Workshops on gender-based Violence – UN Women Project UN women’s campaign for the elimination of violence against women
The girls from GaliPathshala (Street School For Children) participated in the campaign and received special art kits from the JK Arts Foundation. They were made aware of various forms of violence women face in their daily lives. Child marriages, human trafficking, domestic violence, eve- teasing, emotional verbal abuse, honour killing, dowry-related violence, acid throwing and harassment at work were some of the gender-based crimes that were discussed with the young girls and they were trained to use art to demonstrate their activism against the gender-based violence.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Policy Institute, Euphrates Institute and Afghan Women Welfare and Development Association.
