Little Hands for a Greener Tomorrow: Earth Day Art & Craft Workshop at Kidzee Pre School, Rehari

On 22nd April 2025, JK Arts Foundation organized an Art & Craft Workshop on the occasion of Earth Day at Kidzee Pre School, Rehari, Jammu, engaging 42 young learners in a meaningful exploration of environmental awareness through creative expression. At an age when values and habits begin to take shape, the workshop aimed to introduce children to simple yet powerful ideas about caring for the planet, using art as a language they naturally understand.
The session began with an interactive conversation where facilitators spoke with children about the Earth as our shared home and discussed small actions that help protect nature, such as planting trees, saving water, and keeping surroundings clean. These ideas were then translated into hands-on art and craft activities, including drawing, coloring, and creating nature-inspired crafts. Students were encouraged to imagine what a healthy and happy Earth looks like and express their ideas through colors, shapes, and textures.

As the workshop progressed, classrooms transformed into lively creative spaces filled with images of trees, flowers, animals, rivers, and smiling Earths. Some children carefully colored large green landscapes, while others created simple crafts representing plants and living beings. Facilitators observed that students were deeply engaged and eager to explain what they had created. Many proudly shared messages such as “save trees” and “love nature,” reflecting their growing understanding of environmental responsibility.
Teachers shared that combining environmental themes with creative activities helps children remember concepts more effectively. One teacher remarked, “When children learn through art, they connect emotionally with the idea. It becomes more than just information—it becomes a value.” The workshop also supported fine motor development, focus, and early communication skills.

Beyond artistic learning, the session nurtured empathy toward nature and a sense of collective responsibility. Children learned that even small actions can make a difference and that they, too, can be caretakers of the planet.
This initiative aligns with JK Arts Foundation’s mission to integrate arts-based learning with real-world themes and global challenges. By introducing environmental consciousness at the pre-school level, JKAF fosters creative intelligence alongside responsible citizenship.
The day concluded with joyful smiles, colorful displays of artwork, and a renewed sense of care for the Earth. At JK Arts Foundation, we believe that when children learn to love the planet early in life, they grow into adults who protect it with purpose.
