A Day of Play, Creativity, and Calm: Summer Camp at Kidzee Pre School, Rehari

On 7th June 2025, JK Arts Foundation organized a one-day Summer Camp at Kidzee Pre School, Rehari, Jammu, engaging 27 young learners in a carefully designed day of creative, movement-based, and mindfulness activities. The summer camp aimed to provide children with a joyful break from routine while nurturing their imagination, emotional well-being, and social skills through experiential learning.
The day began with a gentle meditation session, helping children settle, breathe, and become aware of their bodies and emotions. This was followed by a series of hands-on art and craft activities, including flower making, mask making, and cap making. Children were encouraged to explore materials freely, choose colors they loved, and create objects inspired by their own ideas rather than following fixed patterns. A lively dance session added movement and energy to the day, allowing children to express themselves through rhythm and coordinated actions.
As the camp progressed, classrooms and activity spaces transformed into vibrant environments filled with laughter, music, and color. Some children worked quietly and attentively on their crafts, while others excitedly shared their creations with friends and teachers. Facilitators observed that children who were initially shy gradually became more comfortable participating, trying new activities, and interacting with peers.
Teachers shared that such camps support children’s holistic development by strengthening fine motor skills, coordination, attention span, and early communication abilities. One teacher reflected, “When children engage in different creative and movement-based activities in a single day, we see them becoming more confident, calm, and expressive.” The meditation session, in particular, helped children experience moments of stillness and self-awareness, which are rarely introduced at this age.
Beyond individual growth, the summer camp fostered a sense of togetherness. Children learned to wait for their turn, share materials, appreciate each other’s work, and celebrate collective achievements. These small yet meaningful interactions lay the foundation for empathy and cooperation.
This initiative reflects JK Arts Foundation’s commitment to integrating arts, movement, and mindfulness into early education. By creating joyful learning spaces, JKAF ensures that children develop not only academically, but also emotionally and socially.
The day concluded with a closing ceremony where children proudly displayed their crafts and received appreciation for their participation. At JK Arts Foundation, we believe that when learning is joyful and nurturing, children grow into curious, confident, and compassionate individuals.
